I-40 adds about 125 miles over I-70. The program would have you head to OK City and then catch 35 north to catch I-70 at Salina, KS -1536 miles total. An alternative from OK City would be to head for Dodge City, KS and La Junta CO. Save 30 miles, stays farther south,  but adds about 5 hours.

I'm heading from MT to Albuquerque in a couple weeks and I am taking my winter snows off and putting the all seasons back on for the trip.
