Yes, but you want to use the stuff that leaves a lubricating coating
behind.  And No, I don't know what that might be.  I think carb cleaner
cleans too well. So maybe carb cleaner followed by WD40 or something.

(The old KB had an article on cleaning the ISV. Maybe I'll see if I can
resurrect it tonight.)
