Oil pressure?

In my 91 V8, the instrument cluster has several issues common to V8
IC's and one of them causes the oil gauge needle to peg when I turn
off the ignition.

The V8 IC is very different "behind the curtain" than a 200q IC, but
they all seem to suffer from some circuit board issues that cause
weird stuff to happen.

IC issues fall down the list of priorities depending on the specific
nature of the issue and whatever else is going on. This particular
one, the needle position without the engine is running, would rank
fairly low for me unless it was the only thing happening at the time.
With 7 Audis, that is essentially never the case.
