need tie rods

hi peter,

yeah, my friend is a mechanic (he's the one that worked on my SHO and has a 530 HP supercharged SHO). not that he cuts deals on labor. BUT at $80/hr - he does do something that shops pretty much never do. he doesn't over charge and he never marks up part prices.

i figure it will be a bout 2 hours of labor - so $160-$200 plus parts. i have a used copy of the bentley book coming next week. aren't the new tie rods $330/piece? i think i might take my chance on the remans.

and then say you were right when they fail in 10k miles ;-)

do the ones 034 carries appear to be correct? 

the place that i bought the tires didn't charge me for the alignment because he could only align the rear. he said the fronts were maxed out, even with the stock springs (and shot struts) - so will have to slot the towers like bernie said for the H&R springs. they have a year warranty on the alignment, so i can keep taking it back there once i get the suspension on.

the mechanic at the shop said he didn't care - he liked the audi ;-)
