Oil Cost.

I gave up worring about what a quart in the 200 cost when I discovered that the 599 runs Shell 5-60 at $29.50 a quart. And it takes 10 quarts. The cost for the 200 now sounds cheap.

Hey guys,

I, too, have been contemplating other options for my urS6 after I saw
Castrol Syntec at my local FLAPS top $7.87 a quart!  Mobil 1 was somewere
around $7.50 or so.  Add tax and it gets ridiculous.  Last I remember it was
around $5-$6.00.  Have not found an alternative yet.

When queried about the price, my local FLAPS said that Wally World has the
trademark on synthetic oil in a jug, and that he couldn't get it.  Any truth
to that?  I really try not to buy anything, even oil, there.

BTW, I've got studded iPikes on my urS6 avant and my Toyota Tacoma and
nothing stops 'em.  Sidewalls a bit soft on the highway, but otherwise
fantastic.  Wear like iron, too.  I'm on my fourth season on both sets.
Unfortunately I think they are now made in China.  Used to be Korea?

Best regards,

Jim Fleischer

I was just there tonight, $22.95 for 5qt jug of either 20/50 or  10/30.
Usually about $25.  May as well make the trip.

Pete

Does anyone know what the thread diameter / pitch is on the idle adjust screw?
I've looked in the family album and that area doesn't seem too detailed.

What version of family album are people running?  I'm on 6.3 and it has pictures up through 2004

Thanks,

Nathan
