I thought for the earlier t44 were lighter and then the 100-200s weighed significantly more and that was the major diff.....anyway good luck with it, regardless of # of valves, any audi I5 turbo is a good candidate to wail on and have fun doing it....never owned the normally aspirated but people like them too.

In theory, the Motronic system in the '91 2Ctq should be better on fuel.

In practice, there are too many other variables, including the car itself - the earlier car is more aerodynamic, etc. and for some reason, the CIS system tends to lend itself to better economy. This of course changes when things are modified. My experience has been that the 10V T44's get better fuel economy than the '91 when all is in good sort and tune. I have had probably a good 10 of each.

You can tune the Motronic system to be way more efficient - or way less too.

Anyway, CIS is older and dated, but works fine in this car.

It's a CIS III. And to be honest, I haven't driven it enough to get a real feel for the mileage yet.

Is this car EFI or CIS......I would think EFI if you are getting good fuel #......what mpg have you gotten?

Why not? If everything else is in good condition, expecially cosmetics, then worth it. You can get plenty of decent power installing a chip and good driveability out of them and the interior is pretty much the same. Also, not to start a thread on this, but they generally get better fuel economy too.

If the car needs paint, interior and/or engine work, then might be better to start with a better overall car.

I don't understand why you would do all this work to a 10v.]
