Broken Fuel line

I figured its going to be a custom fix... my plan is to cut the broken end
clipped to the fire wall and get a new generic hard line and splice it in at
a point where I can access it better.
The problem is where the line snapped... it is attached to the firewall with
very little space to even see it. It is tucked in nicely inbetween the
firewall and the steering rack. I'm not sure where the line runs to.
I'm trying to figure out if it would be easier to cut the broken line way
back further where I can work on it and re-route a new custom line back
through the engine bay or somehow cut and splice a short section keeping
most of the original line. The small splice sounds a lot better but how do
I get at it? Anyone know the clip down low on the firewall right behind the
steering rack that I'm talking about?
Any help identifing the broken line and thoughts on where to begin surgery
would be much appreciated. I really want to drive my car to //SFest this
year.
Thanks
-Kev
I've had good luck using Pirtek in Avon, MA to fab up hoses and lines.
