There is also a relay in the fuse box for the fan, only problem I ever had with that is that the fan stays on when it shouldn't after car is off.  I used to have to pull the fuse box cover and whack the relay to turn it off, as it will drain your battery quickly.  Just don't confuse that with the after run system which can run the fan for a minute or two after shutdown.

Actually it's called a "fusible link" that connects the fan motor to 
ground (not power). They routinely go bad from flexing or other 
stresses (thermally induced?) which cause a hairline crack that can 
be *very* hard to see. A replacement link from the dealer (!) costs 
only a buck or two, so don't hesitate to see your favorite dealer and 
order a couple of 'em.
