No - that  is something I had not considered.  Being several other
things were off, this
would be relatively easy to check.

I most certainly have not ruled out ignition, although I did swap in a
different coil
with no effect.

Have you checked the plug wires from the dist. to the plugs?  These
symptoms sound like
what happened when I mixed the plug wires on the dist and the firing
order was off.
Also, I have had similar symptoms when a plug to one of the injectors
disintegrated and
fired randomly.
