Well thanks to VAG com... this morning I pulled the codes, there was only 1.
MAF. I was actually kind of happy to see it. So I went online (audifans
marketplace to the rescue!) found one a few hours away from me for a good price
so I went to go get it. Came back about half an hour ago, installed it and all
my problems went away! Idles great, no smoke, runs amazing, and pulls like
nobody's business! I am so unbelievably relieved. It was cold so I gave it a
little temperature, and got to maybe 12psi boost and it was effortless and
smooth as silk. Ill definitely sleep well tonight! Or maybe not...Ill want to
get up early and go drive it!
Thanks for everyones help, I appreciate it. Looks like Im good to go now.

Here's a picture of the patient. Its a 1985 UrQ with 3B that has all the RS2
goodies. Therefore Its painted RS2 Pearl blue. It has the tall wing, blacked out
rear lights, euro lights up front and sport hood.

This was an 'in progress' picture, you will notice its missing the drivers side
windshield wiper, has the 5000q wheels on it (winter tires) with no center caps,
and the front grills for the sport hood arent clipped in, they are just laying
there. Thats all been fixed now (except the 5000 wheels, the sport q wheels wont
go on till summer). http://maxboostracing.com/RS2UrQ.jpg

Since you have VAG--COM, have you checked Group 0 , the one that has many
operating conditions like load, intake air temp, RPM, TPS, etc? It is designed
to be read at idle and lowish RPM. The Bentley will tell you what the in spec
ranges are for the various readings.

Your MAF may only be slightly out of spec, which means it may only need
cleaning.

Cheers,
Brady
