Danny, according to Alldatapro the coolant temp sending unit located in the heater water valve is for the HVAC system.
It is most likely used to keep the blower motor off or slow when heat is called for in AUTO mode & when the coolant temp is LOW...
Alldatapro also say's that the value of that sensor can be read on channel 6 on the Climate Control Head.

Subject: Heater valve

What's up all, I was drivin home last night and my car started pissin out coolant from what appeared to be a crack in the heater valve. I parked it on the side of the road and when I got home ordered a replacement. There were 2 different types to order, one with an electrical connector on it and one without. I recall that there was a connector on mine but when I searched for the valve in the bentley I couldn't find it. Do some cars have the connector while others don't? I believe the connector has something to do with the a/c. Tia.
