Fuel filter

 I personally think every 50k is appropriate. IMO, I don't believe time in the routine life of a car, is as much an issue as number of trips to the gas station......

How often should the fuel filter be changed?  I know, when it's dirty,  
but typically what should be the intervals?  I have not noticed any  
problems but the last change was two years/45,000 miles ago.  TIA.
