Hanging hose

That looks like a clothe hose, I believe that the sunroof drain and battery vent on my car are a wide plastic tube.plus it looks like there's a connector on the end of it.does the trunk  get a vacuum hose for the lock?

So far I have two votes for the battery vent and one each for the 
sunroof drain and the fuel filler overflow. 

In my experience, the sunroof drains are pretty much anchored in place 
by body putty and barely stick out, while the fuel overfill hose is 
hidden behind the fender liner.

I'm guessing it's the battery vent, but where does it attach normally?
