I took it to Ingolstadt West here in Los Angeles for the engine wiring
harness replacement, and they said that it "wouldn't let [them] access the
airbag or abs codes through Vag-Com." Truthfully, the airbag and abs
problems WEREN'T EVEN THERE prior to taking it in to them, but showed up
after they replaced everything. Upon initial inspection after bringing it
home, I found that they had actually hooked the bypass vacuum hose line to
the HVAC motor control, among other mistakes. It really disappointed me.
Also, yeah, before all the faults showed up/taking it to Ingolstadt, I was
around 21/22 psi but since then I haven't been able to get it past 18
consistently.
I can't actually keep another car around, but if I don't buy the newer car,
I'll probably just drive it up to 2bennett in Davis (yeah, LONG drive), and
have them diagnose/repair it. Those guys and Scott Mockery are just about
the only mechanics I trust anymore...
