Vacuum hoses

Any vacuum leak will affect engine performance. The vacuum hoses that
disappear into the area behind the firewall are notorious for coming loose
and the fabric covered OEM hose is junk. I wrestled with those for about
five years and then simply replaced all the vacuum hoses under the hood with
high quality Gates silicon hose and new copper tees and other connectors. I
also zip tied all hose ends. During the process I found cracked tees,
hairline cracked hoses, etc. 

The vacuum hose that runs along the intake manifold to the WGF valve burns
up so I replaced it with a copper line, available at any home store. It's
the refrigerator water line.
