Fuel pump without the special tool

When I replaced mine, I rented the tool from Chris at Force5. I think it
was $15 for a week's rental or $45 to purchase. Also needed the different
pump assembly which he had, but I don't remember the cost of that.

I remember thinking I could have done the job without the tool, but that may
have been particular to my car. Or maybe things worked loose over time. I
too went almost 200K before replacing the pump. By that time it was
screaming at me and I could no longer ignore the noise.

Good luck.
