Yep, the sun roof switch is supposed to be illuminated. I've used those radio shack bulbs for replacement in the diff lock, side mirror, power seat and seat heater switches as well. You have to de solder the old bulb then solder in the new one. Be careful taking apart the seat heater switches, as you don't want to lose the small ball bearing that assists the rotary part of the switch. The radio shack p/n is micro lamp #7219, 12v 60ma . I've ordered them from their web site. Good luck!

David -
I remember replacing mine about a decade ago. Sometimes the bulbs do
burn out, but I also found that about half the time it's just a connection
problem that was solved by cleaning and reseating the contacts.
I did find replacement bulbs at Radio Shack (yes, the store is sometimes
good for something) in their experimental parts drawer. I think I referred
to them as "grain of wheat" bulbs because of their size and shape. Just
make sure you match the voltage. The ones I replaced are still working
fine.
And a question for you or anyone else reading: Is the sunroof power
switch also supposed to be illuminated? I didn't want to take it apart
before I knew there was something wrong with it..
Good luck.
