High pressure hose for brake hydraulics

He could be referring to either of the pump’s output hoses, to the
rack or to the accumulator inasmuch as the originals both had a built
in noise suppression system. For this tuned system to work the pump‘s
output is forced thru the small tube which extends beyond the central
orifice. Trapped air in the upper half of the hose is the cushion
that pulses, restricted by the annular ring restriction, act upon.
Totally unnecessary IMO, replaced my PS many years ago.
