High pressure hose for brake hydraulics

The "central plastic hose" is tuned resonator that reduces the humming noise 
from the power steering (somehow).

Many years ago there were two types of hoses, with and without that center 
plastic piece. The ones without made the power steering hum quietly at no 
load, and howl when turning..

I bought the "without" type from Linda at Carlsen...and she was good enough 
to allow me to return it for the other type a few weeks later...
