Fuel pump alternative

I don't know if this will be of any help, but the ~$100 Walbro 255 is
a very popular replacement (with minor alterations) for the $300+
Bosch in-tank fuel pumps in our BMWs. The consensus is that it's not
any more or less durable than the Bosch unit, but it sure is a heck of
a lot cheaper when you need a new one.
