specs for 200Q 20V '3B' engine

Matt -

Indeed the manual confirms CR of 9.3:1 for the 3B engine. I the ECU largely
controls boost, plays a lot with ignition timing and depends heavily upon
the correct functioning of the knock sensors to prevent detonation problems.
And yes, it does make the engine relatively responsive off-boost.

BTW I'm composing a response to your Friday questions. It should be ready
later today or tomorrow.

Yeah, 3900 lbs sounds really high. If the AW figure of 3351 is
correct for the 10v 200 (which seems plausible), what did they add to
the car besides the DOHC cylinder head to bump up the weight 500+ lbs?
Is that figure from the original Audi literature, Geoff? If so, I
wonder if they included a full tank of fuel and two passengers?

Also, 9.3:1 sounds awfully high for a turbo engine. If that's the
case, off-boost torque must be really good for the 3B.

Not tryin' to pick a fight; just talkin' :)
