Subject: Straw Poll: How Dependable is Your 200q20v?

That may have been this vehicle's real weakness. I had a couple of doosies: once the alternator failed in rush hour traffic on the interstate with no place to pull over to, and the car coasted to a halt!; once the fuel tank fill hose failed at the tank inlet, which caused me to trail fuel until the smell, and gas gauge going down, forced me to pull over, bringing the fire Dept to assist; once the air conditioning failed on a wicked hot day and I was traveling the interstate, so windows down was not the way to go; the electrical gremlins struck the functioning of the speedometer, which while it didn't affect the drivability, it was a pain in the ass; I had to replace the rack and the PS pump due to seal failures, a major issue for every single one of these period Audis at some point in time; in short, reliability was not a strong suit, in my opinion, except for the core driveline, which never caused me a problem. Interior issues like window regulators and door lock mechanisms and window switches and the Bose speakers all plagued my vehicle. I've probably forgotten some more?!

But it drove like a bat out of hell! I've done 130 in it, and that was purely stock.

Oh well, moving on...
