compression ratio?

the friend is shayne pavlic - some here know him. he knows his way around a 200 20V. he thinks it's too high and questions whether the 20 year old motronic ECU is robust enough to prevent detonation with such a high compression ratio. especially given that many of us have chipped cars.and that the MC 10V CR is like 8.4:1.

but given that overboosting and damaging the engine is a rarity, he's curious as to that long standing compression number.

It's a pretty well documented figure for the 3B. What authority source would
convince your knowledgeable friend? Owner's manual, service manual,
wikipedia, has to measure it himself? Does he think that 9.3:1 is too high
or too low?
