Removing rear window regulator assy. Help!

You need to separate the frame from the door skin.  There are 13mm bolts on either side.  From there you can easily get the regulator assembly out.

Apparently the “tab“ attaching the cable to the “lifter pivot“ (the part that slides up and down the guide rail) moving the glass via a pivot pin thru the plastic glass attached bottom piece, is broken.

Further, apparently this lifter pivot pin has an E-ring keeping it in the glass plastic piece. If so,(?) visible only with a small inspection mirror, how does one remove the ring to free the regulator assy from the glass? No mention in Bentley! Please tell me that there is no retaining ring on the pin!
