Removing rear window regulator assy. Help!

Well as suggested, I removed the whole inner window frame (PITA!) and the regulator. The tab crimped to the cable had broken out of the lifter pivot, a crimped over die casting which can not be removed from its guide rail. Crappy design! I was able to get the tab back into its place in the lifter and “wired” it in place with a piece of bare #14 cu wire, anchoring each end around either end of the stop adjusting screw, such that it didn’t interfere with the pivot pin. Lubed, works fine now. Will it last another 250K? Maybe, if I don’t hold static motor torque on the closed window.

I was hoping to do it thru the hole in the inner door assy.
I wonder if that retaining clip is really necessary?
Must be the same to replace the glass.
