ignition key / sterreing lock is acting up

There should be no spring return force from ign RUN to OFF, only from START to RUN!
This return spring is in, a part of the electrical start switch on the back of the lock cylinder assembly.
If the return spring does not reliably return the switch from Start to Run you will blow your starter! BTDT.
These switches fail mechanically in that the plastic anchor point of the return spring cracks or breaks reducing or eliminating the switch return force.
