[A4] Re: display issues

I'm afraid to disappoint you Mike, but all B5's are prone to IC display failure, either the display fading over time, missing horizontal lines (in my case) or both.  

A fix/solution would be great, as all dealers just replace the entire IC when it fails.  I've asked my dealer about it, they say they don't waste time repairing it, and that Audi gets the failed parts back for failure analysis (hopefully they do but I doubt that somehow).
