[A4] brakes?

I plumped for mintex red box, pretty cheap and good braking characteristics
(brembo slotted rotors on the front). You'll need a special tool for the
rear calipers (www.ecstuning.com) or you can improvise (somewhere on
Audiworld forums..I can't remember exactly) as they screw in (due to the
handbrake). The fronts are easy to do, will take you about 30 minutes.
Remember to open the reservoir and remove some fluid before you press the
calipers in to install the new pads. If you're going to replace the fluid
(recommended) then I can recommend a powerbleeder as it makes the job really
easy for one person (www.ecstuning.com). The large spring comes off easily
with a good flat head screw driver!

Subject: [A4] brakes?

I finally need new brake pads on my '99 A4 1.8.

Any tips on the removal of the calipers? I took a quick look yesterday and
the only thing I wasn't sure about was getting that large spring clip off.

Also, any tips on types of pads? I made 95k on the original set, so I don't
have any complaints about them.

TIA
