it's not the dealer. it's the warranty company i bought the
7/75,000 warranty from. they company went out of business after 9/11,
and some company bought their contracts and had a fund to pay them out.
the fund is depleted. the people who answer the phone in texas as the
most unprofessional slobs i have ever reached on the phone when calling
a business. they tell me the fund is depleted and that they are covering
my warranty claims out of the goodness of their heart. i know this is
not REALLY why, as they are legally bound to cover it. but i'll just
have to pay and then try to claim against them.

NO MORE extended warranties for me. i'll be leasing my daily
driver, the next time i get one. i'm trying to hold out for decent AWD
diesel cars to be imported to the USA, but i'm not too confident about
that happening before i really want a new car. i might lease an A3,
as soon as the god damned quattros show up in the USA. in my book,
audi - quattro = useless.
