[A4] Q for B6 A4 1.8T Manual Owners

Seems like first gear in my car is 'loud'. That is, when I accelerate  in first gear, the transmission seems to be more 'mechanical' sounding  than any other gear. I noticed it when I was driving by a building in  first last night, even my son thought it was a different sound than  when in second.... Going to have the dealer check it out at the 35k  service, but wondering if it's just me and/or my car.....
