[A4] A4 clutchless shifting

I second that and also would advise him to get driving lesions.  He
shouldn't need a clutch replacement so soon.  If driven correctly, clutches
should last much longer.  Just curious.  How many miles/kilometers on his
2005?

Doug, you can indeed shift without engaging the clutch if you match
the RPM correctly to the road speed of the gearbox...3rd, 4th and 5th
gears are the easiest to do this in, but it is not advised as you'll
crunch a few if you're not careful and will eventually screw the
transmission. Get a new clutch and go to an independent shop (that
knows Audi's) to get it installed (far less than the dealership
usually)..
