[A4] Are drilled rotors really loud?

Hmm...now that you mention it I might ask the same thing.  My "wheels" have
been roaring for years and I've always been bothered by it and wanted to fix
it but I can't find the problem.  Besides, it should get worse at some point
if its bearings or some other hard part.  Right?  The noise is a low rumble
that increases with vehicle speed but doesn't change with engine speed or
road surface.  I can't seem to pinpoint a wheel and even listening out the
window (off of a curb or fence alongside the road) doesn't help.

I replaced my rotors with slotted ones years ago.  The only problem is that
I  can't remember if they roared before the new rotors or not.  :/

Sorry, I'm not really any help to your question but it has raised that
question in my mind about my own wheels and I would be interested in any
replies you get.
