[A8] cracked rims

This is the 2nd time. When I had my tires replaced, Sears cracked one of my
rims. When my neighbor had his tires replaced, American Tire cracked one of
his rims. In both cases it was the 17" OEM rim on the early A8's. In both
cases the crack appeared without any tool damage. In both cases we were
mounting Michelin Pilot Sports 245/50x17.

Have any of you had similar events?
