[A8] 2004 A8L anything in particular to be aware of issues wise? Thoughts on below?

I've been trying to reverse engineer it, as my d2 a8q is starting to do it.
What I think... Correct me if my logic is flawed... Is that the speed
sensor on the trans starts to go, so the tq starts going in and out of
lockup because of the bad signal. This jolts the driveline, which is heavy
and has a lot of power on it, so it eats through the clutches and bands in
the trans, which when combined with a clogged filter and burnt fluid from
the "lifetime" recommendation, causes it to overheat, seize, and grenade.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that sequence seems to make sense to me.
