Shucks, in addition check out www.80tq.com too.
At the referee station, they will want to know that your motor is newer than your car, so say you have an '84, then you need any motor newer than that. Any of the MC motors will go in your 4kq, and your fuel system will even be good to about 8psi boost. The real pain with the turbo conversions is the wiring swap, but if you bypass that step, things will be relatively easy, and as long as you are looking for mild power and boost levels, you will be fine. In fact, even the turbo manifolds bolted onto your stock block will be fine for these boost levels, just use premium gas.
In any event, you will need to relocate the battery to the trunk and cut out the battery box, get a pre-bent tierod from 2bennett, and some light trimming of the front core support is also necessary. As far as AC, it will be tough to keep it, though possible with a lot of extra work.
I will be more than happy to assist in any turbo projects, just let me know how I can help.
