[ba] auto tranny fluid on A4 2.8L

another question,

the shop said they can only add tranny fluid to the 
slushbox. they can't drain it because it's sealed. how
can an auto tranny be totally sealed? i've heard of
this with manuals, but never atx. it though you had to
drain and flush every 20k. are they right?
