[ba] 5 cylinder won't idle after changing out oxygen sensor

Say Folks,
The old Coupe failed to pass smog so I did a tune up (rotor, cap, plugs, air filter).
Ran a good bit better but I wanted to also change out the oxygen sensor since it had been a few years.
Did that today, but now it is harder to start and will not idle.
I have to keep some pressure on the pedal and keep it above 1000 rpm.
Engine revs fine.
I assume it just got leaned way out.
Tried turning the idle screw in the manifold but it did nothing.
While changing out the sensor I had to remove the intake boot and found some muck in the top of the big aluminum air body with the circular plate that depresses.
To clean the muck out I did push down on it but assumed it would find it's correct position once the engine was started.
Any clues greatly appreciated. I have been able to misplace both my manuals (looking for them right now).
Thanks,
M./
