[BiturboS4] RE: After run thermostat

As Keman (on this list) has determined, the sensor is a switch which can be
overridden. I too contemplated finding a sensor with a different setting,
but as Keman pointed out, this would require removing and replacing a sensor
which is fairly embedded in a hose, something which I don't fancy doing.
Also since the coolant temp is NOT a sure indication of how hot the turbos
are, I would guess that all you'd end up doing is forcing on the afterrun
pump for it's maximum of 10 minutes after every journey.

Since I want a boost gauge, I'll be doing exactly what Keman did, I'm just
waiting for my Defi HUD to arrive from Japan. If you don't want a boost
gauge, then I would suggest that still the best way to do what you want is
to override the sensor using a timing relay set to a predefined time (plus
an isolation relay). I wouldn't bother with a turbo timer to do this - far
too expensive for simply overriding the afterrun sensor.

Subject: [BiturboS4] After run thermostat

I know there is a lot of interest in turbo timers for our car and I am sure
many of you have them. What I am curious about is the thermostat that
drives the automatic, coolant temp. driven after run that is built into the
car. Does anyone here know if the temp. setting can be modified other than
with the use of a turbo timer?

Many thank for any BTDTs
