[Biturbos4] Winter Tire Help - why two sets of wheels?

I agree. Another advantage is that you don't risk damage to the expensive
stock Avus wheels. On my old Eclipse it seemed that every time I took my
wheels and tires in for a changeover they'd get scratched, or nicked, or a
center cap would go missing, etc. Trust no one! :)

These days when I do need tire mounting done, I go to a local tuner
(Speedware in Redmond, for any locals). They're more expensive than a place
like Discount Tire, but I've never had any problems with them and I get the
feeling that if something did happen, they would bend over backwards to fix
it.

I've used a second set of wheels because I can do the changeover myself.
My snows last for many seasons, so I save quite a bit of $$ that way,
plus the hassle of taking the car someplace. On a car like the S4, it
makes good sense to get some 16" rims for the snow tires. the taller
sidewall has advantages in un-even surfaces of snow and ice. I'm looking
for some S4 rims to use on my A6 2.7T so I can use my stock 16" rims for
winter tires.
