[Biturbos4] HELP! 2000 S4 Timing Belt Slipped

To play devil's advocate a bit.....

Most people who buy S4/A62.7Ts new don't plan to own them S4s past 120k miles, and very few will own them to 180k miles....

If you aren't trying to avoid the timing belt service altogether, why not change it at 60k miles like nearly ever car manufacturer has recommended for the last 20 years and be safe??

Change it at 60k, 120k, 180k, 240k...... 4 changes.
or
Change it at 80k, 160k, 240k............ 3 changes.

Doesn't make any sense to me to push it past 60k unless you plan on owning the car for 240k miles and you are trying to save the cost of one timing belt change over 240k miles of ownership (silly). If you plan on owning the car for less than 120k miles it is a wash and you only pay for 1 change anyway.

Geeze, I'd take it back to the dealer who said "wait until 80K" and tell
them you were prepared to do the work at 70K, but they advised to wait
until 80K and they better help you out now. I've had 70K quoted from
Audi and a sticker under my hood says that also (A62.7T)
I'm knocking on 55K, so I'm getting to the point where I need to think
about getting the work done (or do it myself).
