Most likely, since its a 2000, MAF.....which will be replaced for free, as per TSB, extended warrantee of 7 yrs and 70,000 Miles on the Bosch MAF, again, IIRC.

you can check through VAG.COM if there's anybody in your area with a vag, in order to avoid paying the dealer a $90 diagnostic fee.....

No way to tell for sure unless you check for fault codes stored in
the ECU.  There are hundreds of possible causes of the CEL, and VAG-COM
(or ProDiag if you use PalmOS) is your friend.
