[Biturbos4] Dealer excuses...

Hi all,

Picked up my car from the dealer at lunch today, they were sticking to their story, and they say Audi (AoA) is the one telling them not to cover this under warranty.

So I spoke to a salesman right afterwards, with the service manager happened to be close by, asked him if they still offer tinting and clearbra for customers before they pick up the brand new car. He said yes, so then I told them about my case and he agrees that he can't see why tint would cause a problem.

So then I asked him what happens if the power windows fail on a car they tinted for customers, at that point the service manager spoke up, telling me that he's seen many window regulators go, and most if not all of them are tinted. He claimed he's told the sales department about these problem and are trying to get them not to put tint on anymore. He said in such a case either the sales department or the customers would have to pay. I find it hard to believe, told him so and said to offer these service/products then turn around and void the warranty on the customer without prior warning is just unacceptable, making the dealer look really bad.

I kept using that point, with a polite yet assertive attittude, eventually the service manager said he'll give me the benefit of the doubt this time and OKed the replacement, but next time I'll have to pay. Whatever, my warranty will be gone in November anyways, either I won't be going back, or my car will be long gone.

This whole thing is just absurd, but I guess I should be happy that I got want I requested this time.

Quincy
