[Biturbos4] Timing Belt replacement

Everything I've heard in terms of conventional wisdom says do it at 60k, and I have no reason to think otherwise. The B5 seems to have somewhat of a short-life water pump (mine went at 50k and I found a large number of people who had the same) so if you're in there doing that, you might as well do the timing belt, tensioners, etc.
Whatever the reason, waiting until 90k just doesn't seem worth it in terms of risk/reward, but $2100 is way out of whack.
Maybe I'm old school, but I also don't buy the whole "You only have to change your oil every 8-10,000 miles on new cars" thing either. I use Amsoil and still do it at about half that interval.
Anyone else have dealers telling them to wait until 80 or 90k to do the timing belt?
