[Biturbos4] EGT sensor replacement

Greetings All: 

I was hoping someone could help me find a good part source for EGT sensors, as well as a brief explanation on how to replace them. 

I have an EGT sensor that is on it's way out. I keep getting the following DTC: 
---- 
17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235): Open or Short to Plus 
P1453 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 
---- 

A local shop tested it and informed me the sensor is reacting slow and will need to be replaced. Actually they recommended both be replaced. Does that sound correct? I searched around on the AW forums and it looks like there has been some issues on EGT sensors but no one has replaced them in pairs. 

Also there seems to be some confusion as to what are the correct part numbers. The original parts were superseded. But it is not clear to me if they were superseded by a single universal part or by a left and right part.
