[Biturbos4] 40k service (and 60k from prior)

On an S4, I'm surprised that anyone has been having this problem.
-especially- if you're already paying for the service. I'd find another
dealer. You should be getting a loaner, tires rotated for free, some
coffee, and a relaxing experience. Not nickel-and-dime bs that they
normally reserve for cheaper cars with MUCH cheaper maint. costs.
Someone was asking earlier about why a 60k was so expensive. Sometimes a
60k is considered a "major" maint. This includes:
R&R:
oil
oil filter
cabin air filter
air filter
spark plugs
check ecu for codes
lube door hinges, sunroof, window seals, door seals, trunk/hatch
hinges/seals, door locks
rotate tires, adjust tire pressure
pull brake pads, remove rust from edges, lube backing plate slide
surfaces, remove rear calipers- clean and lube slide pins
flush brake system
change batteries in remote(s)
and inspect basically everything, upsell anything that the car needs
beyond this. (brakes, seal leaks, etc)
If you get a brake job in addition to a major maint, the brake job will be
discounted heavily because the major maint. already has the wheels and
calipers apart.
There are a couple of audi charts on when to do this on which car. For
biturbo S4's, it's sometimes 50k, and it's sometimes 60k. Keep in mind
that they're not supposed to just push the Y shaped turbo inlet tube up
top out of the way for removing the spark plugs. It comes OFF, the bypass
valves get checked, and everything gets new hose clamps from where the old
pinch style ones were cut off.
On a bi-turbo, a major maint used to take me about 3-4 hours all said and
done. The car should run like new, the weatherstripping should be shiny
and dust free, the windows should roll up and down silently, and the car
should be spotless both inside and out when a major maint. is done.
If you guys aren't getting this-- again, find another dealer. You can try
to complain to get them to do all this, but you shouldn't have to and that
you do have to is indicative of a lackluster service crew. ie: good luck
getting an audi tech to vacuum the interior of your car-- the detail guys
do that and if there are no detail guys then no amount of complaining is
going to fix that.
