Hi Ti:
I am a silent member of this list for a long time and enjoyed all
of your contributions in the past. I have a stock silver 2001.5 B5 S4. I
had the Goodyear F1-gs/ds on my car, and they worked well, but replaced them
with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo - at little under $100 a piece on 17" stock
rims, and they are working out fine.

The link below leads you to a Car and Driver comparo of some
tire, where the Hankook did very well, especially for the money. I chose
Hankook over the winner Dunlop only because of the 280 tire wear rating, and
the cost, which netted out at $350 after the rebate. Local tire chain
matched the price of Tires Direct, so I think was a good deal.

Had my timing belt and water pump etc done at 63000 miles.
Local guy here in Bristol, RI did it for little over $700 including a new
serpentine belt. He just happens to be an excellent mechanic at very
reasonable prices. I enclose a picture of the repair
