The the fade is real, but the lenses on the B5 are also pretty poor.
A set of euro lenses with the B5 stock bulbs will make the headlights much 
more similar to the 2006 model in terms of visibility.

the OSRAM OEM replacements are expensive, there are some cheaper options.
