Agreed. The HID fade is a known issue, as it's inherent in the bulb design. To that end, they suggest you replace in pairs so you don't get goofy lighting.

i had a similar issue in the drvier side headlight.  I took the passenger 
light and put  it in teh driver side, which cured the problem.   One new 
set of bulbs later, the issue has not occured.

Also, new bulbs are much brighter than the 10 year old ones i had in there 
before!
