To add to this, take a close look at the housing. It's connected to the
lower rad hose, right behind the right side electric fan. If it's black
plastic, get a new one before starting the job. If it's alluminum, you are
good to go. If you want an alluminum one to replace the plastic one, find
one on ebay or a lasvage yard. They were alluminum on the early engines,
some time Audi switched to plastic.
And, yes, if it's my car I'm replacing the water pump and TB during this
job, unless it was recently done.
