Wow, went several years without a peep from the biturbos4 group, and now a couple dozen emails within two days. I also concluded most people had migrated to the forums. I check them occasionally looking for specific information, but am not a regular participant.

I purchased my 2001.5 S4 sedan, 6MT, light silver metallic, aluminum mirror housings and alcantara seat inserts new the beginning of 2001. Today it is my daily driver with a total of 43,000 miles on the clock.

I will now duck to avoid all the flack coming my way on the mileage.

Two reasons for the low mileage: I’ve been retired for several years and drive about 7,000 miles a year total. Secondly the S4 was stored the first eight years of its life until I sold my then daily driver, a ’91 Coupe Quattro, in 2009.

In 2011 I purchased a B-8 S4, 6MT, Prestige trim, to which I added the Stasis Touring package installed by my dealer. The fact that Stasis Engineering went out of business in 2014 poses no problems. This car, not surprisingly, is stored winters.

The only mod I’ve made to the B-5 S4 was to have a Milltek cat-back exhaust installed. Besides being my daily driver, one of my fun activities is participating in Wis Audi Club chapter’s ice driving schools. The first one this winter was cancelled due to insufficient ice. The second is scheduled for Feb 13, but the weather is forecast to warm up.

I don’t have any suggestions on your glove box problem. As might be expected with my low mileage, my S4 has been trouble free.

By the way, Ti, I have a couple pictures of your S4 on my hard drive that you had posted on the internet in I think, late 2000. Your car was one of the reasons I chose the color.

It’s good to see so many people still owning these cars, or regretting they don’t.
